Train Transfers To and From Santa Maria Airport

Trains are not available at Santa Maria Airport in the Azores, Portugal. However, travelers can easily reach the city center via bus or taxi. The distance between the airport and downtown Vila do Porto is only 5 kilometers.

Many companies offer shuttle services from the airport to local hotels, so visitors should check with their hotels for the availability of such services before traveling. Taxis are also available at a designated area outside the arrivals hall and usually take less than 10 minutes to reach central Vila do Porto.

Buses leave from a stop just outside of Arrivals Hall and provide connections to most parts of town at an affordable price, usually less than €10 per person each way. This form of transportation is popular amongst visitors as it allows them to get familiar with the city while being driven around comfortably at a relatively low cost.
